“Did you get what you needed yeah. Come on don’t you know what you got to do? Yeah! Just take it or leave it.”

We went up to check out the super cool, washed up bricks. MH rear neighbour was out in his backyard having a bit of a party. Didn’t want to intrude, so left the fencing conversation to another time. Speaking of intruding, tried the front door handle & it was left unlocked by the brick cleaners. So I took the opportunity to sneak inside for a few quick snaps. Talk about hot & stuffy. Not sure if the insulation has been put down in the roof yet (will need to buy a step ladder to peak through the manhole), but the wall insulation wasn’t working very well! Might have to bump the air conditioning up the priority list.
On the way out, we locked the front door to keep it all secure. This got me thinking later about keys. Did PD/SS visit site to unlock the door for the brick cleaners, or where they issued a copy of the key? If so, how many people’s hands will the keys go through? Paranoid or not, that’s a lot of people who have potential access to my house, before & after hand over. Another one to put on the list to speak to PD/SS about – organising when I can get access for quotes for security doors. Will do the dead locks for the two wooden doors after handover, but that doesn’t protect against the sliding doors. Maybe have to go with a wooden stick in the track for a bit? Will be fitting out the sliding windows with them, so a few bits extra for some piece of mind is worth the little bit extra expenditure. Now, to fashion a set of foil hats to keep the aliens from listening in…
20091230+Construction004 Construction D080 Sneak InsideEek! Brick strap snapped & the bricks have tumbled down.
20091230+Construction005 Construction D080 Sneak InsideGorgeous bricks! That rubbish pile ain’t doing much for me though.
20091230+Construction006 Construction D080 Sneak InsideLess gorgeous orange bricks. The R’s survived the wash – or did they skip this totally?
20091230+Construction007 Construction D080 Sneak InsideDirt is drying up nicely, but much more work needed to bring this up to scratch.
20091230+Construction009 Construction D080 Sneak InsideI kinda wish more darker bricks were here. I secretly wanted to sort out their piles & put all the creamy ones down the zero aligned wall! Yeah, OCD or what!
20091230+Construction010 Construction D080 Sneak InsideAccess! Definitely taking this opportunity…
20091230+Construction011 Construction D080 Sneak InsideMortar is very neat around the front door. Good impressions. :)
20091230+Construction012 Construction D080 Sneak InsideA bit wet inside still – the water must have squeezed itself through the door jam.
20091230+Construction015 Construction D080 Sneak InsideGross! I hope they clean this before putting my bath in.
20091230+Construction018 Construction D080 Sneak InsideA few water dribbles on the RHS of bedroom 2’s window. (Or is it crying from the view next door?!)
20091230+Construction019 Construction D080 Sneak InsideAnd a few more on the LHS. Lucky we shut the windows before the cleaners came, or they might have forgotten!
20091230+Construction020 Construction D080 Sneak InsideThe fridge space – note the wall on the RHS is shorter than the pantry wall. Guess I’m getting a fridge door that swings anti clockwise.
20091230+Construction021 Construction D080 Sneak InsideCheck out the dust all over the slab! And the water drips on the LHS family room wall.
20091230+Construction022 Construction D080 Sneak InsideThey definitely missed cleaning the inside of the dining room’s sliding door track!
20091230+Construction023 Construction D080 Sneak InsideCan’t WAIT to kick up my feet & watch telly here. Firstly, need a couch!
20091230+Construction024 Construction D080 Sneak InsideWood laying down the hallway & sheets of plaster in the family room. For the kitchen bulkhead?
20091230+Construction025 Construction D080 Sneak InsideLaundry! Those orange bricks still look off. Actaully, they looked better with the mortar all over them!
20091230+Construction026 Construction D080 Sneak InsideNo fence action for my rear MH neighbour yet. Their backyard slab awaiting pouring.
20091230+Construction027 Construction D080 Sneak InsideGhostly door!
20091230+Construction028 Construction D080 Sneak InsideMaybe the pools of water were from the folds in the plastic?
20091230+Construction031 Construction D080 Sneak InsideAll locked up again! Plastic kept on in case they come back.
20091230+Construction034 Construction D080 Sneak InsideThe moon checks out the raking of my mortar. Nice & even(ish).
20091230+Construction035 Construction D080 Sneak InsideOff white mortar shines. A bit of a chipped brick – adds character? Hrm, does annoy me a bit though…
